Dear Sprint,
Thanks for not knowing anything about your phones. I spent probably 2 hours today talking to various Customer Care and tech support people about picturemail charges. "You must be sending them wrong, you must be sending emails" they say and then they refer me to this stupid page: "How can I avoid data usage charges when using Sprint PCS Picture Mail?" And do you know what Sprinty? I already know. Unlike you, I am fully aware of how my phone functions. I have the new LG Lotus which, forces you to connect to the internet in order to send picturemail. Did you know that? DID YOU? Yes, I go to the picture mail menu, select compose, find my contact, and push send. But where are these charges coming from?!
I hope you know that everyone I talked to gave me a different answer and no real solutions. I don't expect everyone to know how each phone works, but a problem like this, which has been complained about in many forums , you should know about an should have a solution for.
If a plan is called "unlimited messaging- text, picture, and video" than I feel like that's what it should do and you shouldn't have more charges if you have a newer phone. If you know the phone MAKES you use data, than you should be told upfront that you'll have to upgrade plans instead of stealing peoples money. Right? That's what you do for the Blackberries.
In fact, let me do a small recreation of me considering the blackberry pearl:
Me: "I like this phone. I think I'll get it"
BlackBerry: "Hold on there, Jacklynn, if you get me you'll have to upgrade your plan to a plan your father will never get. I'm sorry. I want you to be my owner so bad and I'm totally worth the extra $50"
Me: "Aw shucks, okay. I'll get the LG Lotus instead which doesn't say anything about upgrading my plan or warn me that sprint is stupid"
BlackBerry: "it's probably better this way. I'll be even cooler when you grow up, are successful, and can afford internet on your phone"
Me: "I agree. Thanks for being honest with me."
END SCENE
Not that I have anything against Lotty, really its just Sprint that I hate. I'm sad that I have another year before I can cancel my contract--which I probably wont' do anyway.
Sincerely,
Unsatisfied Customer
Ps. I hate you.
